Starting Wednesday my class went on a bike trip! it was totally awesome! We drove to St. Joe state park to camp and bike ride. I was sharing a tent with my two awesome friends Claire and Emily! (they rock by the way) So we rode this 11 mile loop the first day and it was EXTREMELY HILLY! not fun.... but we all made it. a boy in my class (John) wiped out and had to go to the hospital..... He's fine. It was mainly just to be safe but he still went home. He came back after dinner to sit around the fire with us though! that was fun. One of the leaders had brought his high tech telescope (don't ask me how in the world it survived the bus ride! :P) so we set it up and looked at Jupiter through it. It was beautiful i saw 2 shooting stars that night. It was so pretty.
The second day we did the same trail again only we did it the opposite way- it was about the same amount of hilliness. Then we drove to elephant rocks. Its this state park that has all these huge rocks that you can climb around on. It's really really fun. After about 15 minutes of climbing around we all came back to this central rock where our art teacher, Mary Jo (also a great biker) , talked about this artist who makes things out of natural materials. His name is (drum roll) Andy Goldsworthy!!!! So anyway, she told us to go off and make something out of the things we found in nature. It was really col. I was with my two other friends Julia and Jaylah and we found this tiny little overlap in rock. It made kind of like a tiny little cave. We put little sticks lining the opening so it looked really cool. I was so proud, i wanted to show everyone. I was showing it to my friend Trisha (BTW: I'm friends with everyone in my class), and i was so exited i fell and twisted my ankle really bad and scraped my knee really badly. I couldn't, and still cant, put weight on my ankle. Because of my fall, Trisha never did get to see my Andy Goldsworthy creation.... :p So when we got back i iced it and elevated it. Despite my ankle, i hopped all the way down to the telescope to lay out under the stars with my friends. It was so much fun. We could not stop laughing... :P My ankle wasn't that swollen so we weren't too worried. When i woke up the next morning it was puffy.
The last day, we packed up and the rest of the group- not including me because of my ankle- Basically rode down a hill to a lake where they wrote in their journals. Me and the teacher who was with me (Judy), not wanting to miss out on the action, rode on the bus down to were they were. The same teacher who brought the telescope carried me piggyback all the way to where they were writing!! We wrote and talked about what we wrote then got in the bus and drove back home! It was the best camp out ever!
